Libby Villari’s On–Camera Acting Class is all about the “on-camera” acting technique which she believes is very different than stage work. She uses scripts from her film & television projects & auditions, films the students work & critiques the finished product. She shares knowledge & pointers for auditioning that the student can use for any type audition for a life time. Libby throws in some improve to keep things lively. She guarantees that while she may not be able to turn everyone into a great actor, she can improve anyone’s acting abilities. This back-to-basics class welcomes all skill levels. Libby Villari is one of the most successful television & film actresses in the Southwest, and she got her career start right here at Stage West playing Lenny Bruce’s stripper wife in Lenny thirty years ago. An agent saw her performance, signed her and the rest is history. Stage acting is her first love but she’s transitioned to some very rewarding camera work with such acclaimed directors as Clint Eastwood, Robert Rodriguez, Robert Altman, Lasse Halstrom, Alan Parker and Richard Linklater. She’s played mother to Renee Zellweger, Elijah Woods & Patricia Arquette, and worked with a multitude of other A-list actors including Sandra Bullock, Leonardo DiCaprio, Johnny Depp & Hillary Swank. She spent 4 years playing Mayor Lucy Rodell on NBC’s acclaimed prime time television series Friday Night Lights. She recently shot her first 3-D, computer generated horror flick Higher Mission, due out next year. Her credits, including stage, commercial and voice-over work are too numerous to list here.
