Harry Parker

is a Professor and Chair of the Department of Theatre at Texas Christian University.  He has directed more than one hundred professional and university plays and musicals, including productions at the Kennedy Center (Washington D.C.), Stages Repertory Theatre (Houston), American Heartland Theatre (Kansas City), and City Rep and Lyric Theatre of Oklahoma (both in Oklahoma City).  In Dallas-Fort Worth, his professional directing credits include Thurgood and Company at Jubilee Theatre, Into the Woods at Lyric Stage, Vanya and Sonia and Masha and Spike at Stage West, Hunting and Gathering at Amphibian Stage Productions, and 15 productions at Circle Theatre, including, King O’ The Moon, My Name is Asher Lev, and Hope and Gravity.  At TCU, he has directed Oklahoma!, You Can’t Take It With You, Everyman, Sweeney Todd and No, No, Nanette, among others. Originally from Oklahoma City, Harry received his BFA from TCU, and an MA and PhD from the University of Kansas.  He is a two-time winner of the Kennedy Center Medallion of Excellence and the former National Chair of the Kennedy Center American College Theatre Festival.  In 2013, he won the TCU Chancellor’s Award for Distinguished Achievement as a Creative Teacher and Scholar.  Harry is a proud associate member of The Stage Directors and Choreographers Society.
