Festival of the Kid

The winning plays from the Neighborhood Play Contest are cast using kids and young adults from the North Central Texas area, and then professionally produced using seasoned designers, directors and actors.

Neighborhood Play Contest

North Central Texas area students are invited to write a short narrative about a true event from their lives. Themes such as cultural, neighborhood, family or school pride are encouraged. Two from each grade level are selected to be work-shopped into mini-plays by professional theatre artists. The workshops are essentially writing masterclasses that are open to all students participating in the contest. The entire event is 100% free and aligns completely with TEKS standards.
