In the Gallery

The Ol' Vic Gallery features fine, visual art from local, regional and out-of-state artists. Each year, several dozen artists submit their paintings, photographs, sculptures and more for an opportunity to be selected as one of our featured visual artists during the season. Our goal is to shine a light on the very talented arts community here in North Central Texas, as well as give our guests a chance to see some great art every time they walk in our doors.

I love being outdoors, absorbing nature.  It inspires me.  My quest is to capture on paper or canvas the essence of what I am experiencing.  So why do it?  I do not know of any other way to express myself that gives me so much joy.

I have always loved the creative arts, but like most I spent my time and energy earning a living in a more traditional way.  Four years ago I retired after working 30 plus years in law enforcement.  Finally I had the time to begin painting.  Now I paint…and paint…and paint!

Sam Reeves

I was raised in Atlanta Georgia and graduated from Georgia Southern College with a Business Degree. I became interested in photography in college when I borrowed a 35 mm camera and shot a photo of a sunset in rural Georgia in 1968.  I bought my first camera soon after that.
