Stage West 2012 Theatre Conservatory

a highly praised professional theatrical preparatory course training young people in all aspects of the craft from on-stage to technical in a safe, fun and challenging atmosphere.

Stage West is pleased to announce the dates and general schedule for its fun and intensive two-week Summer Conservatory, an exciting program that provides a fully-rounded, professional-taught theatre arts training for young people interesting in exploring a career on or off stage. The Conservatory provides a unique opportunity to learn about numerous aspects of theatre in an environment that is nurturing, non-competitive and a lot of fun!

Our classes are small in student to teacher ratio and are taught by highly-skilled professionals. They provide extensive individual attention in a group setting, promoting a relaxed but focused environment. Each student will participate in acting, audition technique, dance, singing, improvisation, mask-making, scene painting, stage combat, stage management, sound design, lighting 101, resume/agent training, commercial acting and more.

Each student will finish the week with 2 monologues, a song, a photo disc of professional headshots, dance experience and tons of useful tips and hands-on training that can be used for future auditions. They will also have been trained in the basics of six technical fields that can be invaluable to young people looking to make a living in theatre.
