Summer Programs

Stage West will be offering a variety of acting camps as well as our Theatre Conservatory this summer. Classes are for ages 3-22. 

Discounts are available for multiple students in a family or for multiple classes. Before and after care is available for all programs at an extra charge.

There is a Summer Registration Fee of $30 in addition to course tuition. Once we receive your registration form, we will contact you via phone to finalize your registration. You may pay over the phone with a credit card, or send a check.

Summer Conservatory

July 7-25, 9:30am-4:30pm, ages 14-22, cost $550.

An exploratory journey for students that includes training in the areas of acting, singing, dancing, on-camera study, scenic design and technical theatre. Seasoned industry artists lead students through audition preparation technique, monologue work, and song selection. This fun and well-rounded three-week program culminates in a world premiere production, preparing students for the real world of theatre and film. Each participant gets the opportunity to take part in a professional photo shoot, and will take home a complete disk of agent-ready headshots.

 Ages 3-5:

Creative Drama 
The perfect introduction to imagination and creative play. (Teacher: Mary Gilbreath Grim)

June 16-20, 10am to noon, Adventures with Skippyjon Jones, $130

June 23-27, 10am to noon, Discovering the World of Eric Carle, $130

Ages 6-12 

June 16-20, 1pm to 4pm, Despicable Me: The Next Chapter, $180

Minions + Gru + Lucy + 3 Adorable Girls=a family!  You get to decide what's next for these lovable characters as we create an original play to be presented on stage at the end of the week. (Teacher: Justin Flowers)

June 23-27, 1pm to 4pm, Musical Theatre Idol, $180

Sing, dance, and act as you create an original performance based on the wonders of Broadway.  Performance takes place on stage at the end of the week. (Teacher: Susan Riley)

13 and Up 

June 16-20, 1pm to 4pm, Shakespeare for Teens, $180

Take a pair of star-crossed lovers, mix in a conniving queen, toss in a ghost or two for good measure, and hand everyone a cell phone to create the perfect exploration of the Bard's work for teens. Course builds to a final performance at the end of the week. (Teacher: David Wilson-Brown)

June 23-27, 1pm to 4pm, What's in Your Pockets?, $180

Using improvisation as a springboard to writing, be ready to surprise yourself with the dynamics of your characters. Local students are encouraged to attend in preparation for Stage West's 2014 Neighborhood Play Contest.  Pieces will be showcased at the end of the week. (Teacher: Justin Flowers)
