Lee Trull

Lee Trull is a director/writer/producer living in Dallas, TX. He is director of new play development at the Tony Award winning Dallas Theater Center where he's produced world premier works by Samuel D. Hunter, Will Power, Kim Rosenstock, Rajiv Joseph, Kirsten Childs, Douglas Carter Beane, Lewis Flynn, Regina Taylor, Boo Killebrew, Michael Friedman, Itamar Moses and many more. He is artistic director and founder of The Royal American Academy of Theatrics (with Carson McCain Gray) and executive producer of the new play podcast The Unsolicited. His work has been seen at Dallas Theater Center, Kitchen Dog Theater, Second Thought Theatre, Classical Acting Company, Stage West, Dallas Comedy House, Hollywood Fringe Festival, University of Oklahoma, Southern Methodist University and Hardin Simmons University. He is the co-writer of the play Deferred Action (with David Lozano) which premiered in Spring of 2016 at Dallas Theater Center. He has consulted for the new musical Indian Joe at Godspeed Opera House, the National Alliance of Musical Theater Festival, the Colorado New Play Summit, and the web series Submissions Only. Lee was named Best Director by D Magazine and Best Local Playwright by Dallas Observer. He was a recipient of the NEA Artworks Grant. He is an active member of Kitchen Dog Theater's artistic ensemble and a former member of DTC's Brierley Resident Acting Company.  Lee is currently developing a musical adaptation of Twenty Thousand Leagues under the Sea by Jules Verne with Kate Hamill and Shawn Magill. Visit him online at www.leetrull.com.
