Susan Sargeant

Susan is the Founder and Producing Artistic Director for WingSpan Theatre Company, which she founded in 1997.  She is also a Founding Partner of The Festival of Independent Theatres/FIT now in its 21st Season.   She most recently directed Summer and Smoke at The University of North Texas - Department of Dance and Theatre/UNT.  Recent WingSpan credits include:  On the Verge or The Geography of Yearning, and Landscape, Edward Albee’s Occupant, Edward Albee’s Finding the Sun, Breadcrumbs, Samuel Beckett’s Play, Samuel Beckett’s Happy Days and The Two Character Play; to name just a few.   Other selected directing credits include:  A Moon for the Misbegotten, Edward Albee’s Three Tall Women and Edward Albee’s Seascape for Circle Theatre.  Children of a Lesser God and The Women for Contemporary Theatre of Dallas.  Further directing credits include productions for WaterTower Theatre, Classical Acting Company, Pegasus Theatre, Upstart Productions, UNT, Fun House Theatre & Film; among others.  In her career, she has received both directing and acting awards from Dallas/Ft. Worth Critics Forum, The Dallas Observer and The Column.
