About Stage West
Stage West Theatre was founded by Jerry Russell in 1979. The former warehouse was converted into a 170 seat theatre with a spacious front area used for studio productions and preshow dining. After moving locations twice, Stage West returned to Vickery Blvd and following a four-month renovation opened the new 144 seat proscenium stage. In 2020 Stage West began its 19 month renovations and reopened unveiling The Russell Theatre, The Evelyn Wheeler Swenson Theatre, The Larry and Karen Anfin Rehearsal Hall and The Lobby Café. Stage West’s vision is to be a cultural commons for Fort Worth’s art seekers. With four newly renovated spaces, Stage West provides ample space for presentations, meetings, performances, events, parties, and so much more.
The Jerry Russell Theatre
The Jerry Russell Theatre, “The Russell”, is a 144 Seat proscenium style theatre. The stage is roughly 48’wide x 26’ deep and 16’ tall. The Russell is ideal for a variety of productions, performances and events such as theatrical productions, music and voice recitals, dance and musical concerts, live shows and much more. This theatre is equipped with a closed off control booth with a lighting console and sound playback, as well as two dressing rooms and green room space. Pricing for this space starts $125/hr. Non-refundable Cleaning Fee $150.
The Evelyn Wheeler Swenson Theatre
The Evelyn Wheeler Swenson Theatre, “The Evie”, is a versatile black box theatre space that seats up to 200 people. This space can be reconfigured to serve the need of each rental, depending on availability. The flexible stage typically falls into a range of 24’X30’. The Evie is ideal for a variety of productions, performances and events as well as presentations, meetings, readings, photography, small parties, and much more. This theatre is equipped with a closed off control booth with a lighting console and sound playback, as well as two dressing rooms and green room space. Pricing for this space starts at $125/hr. Non-refundable Cleaning Fee $150.
The Larry & Karen Anfin Rehearsal Hall
The Larry & Karen Anfin Rehearsal Hall, “The Fin” is our rehearsal hall that seats 40 people. This space approximately 28’X34’ and seating can be created using risers and chairs. This large open space is ideal for meetings and rehearsals, and can also be used as a lobby for The Evie. This theatre is equipped with a closed off control booth with a lighting console and sound playback. Pricing for this space starts at $50/hr. Non-refundable Cleaning Fee $100.
The Lobby Cafe
The Lobby Café is our primary non-theatrical space that can seat between 100-120 people. This space is perfect for meetings, large dinner events, parties, catered events, receptions and much more. This space is equipped with a sound system, but can also hold small bands or musicians. Catering for this space is available at an additional cost. Pricing for this space starts at $80/hr. Non-refundable Cleaning Fee $125.
