Stage West’s Rob Bosquez Opportunity Scholarship is currently accepting applications from area 13-18 year old students.
This limited-availability scholarship offers a chance to apply for a free spot in Stage West's annual Summer Conservatory that takes place July 10-28 of 2023. The Summer Conservatory program provides a fully immersive, hands-on experience where students work closely with professional theatre artists to hone their craft through various workshops and a final cumulative performance. Summer Conservatory offers a safe space for students to develop their skills, preparing them for future careers in the performing arts.
The Rob Bosquez Opportunity Scholarship is intended for young people who may not otherwise have the financial resources to attend the Summer Conservatory program. Although the scholarship is open to all students, we strongly encourage students from marginalized communities, such as POC and BIPOC, to apply.
Rob Bosquez, a Fort Worth native, has been dedicating his time to creating theatre with and for the youth in our community for decades. Since the inception of Stage West's education department, he has played a key role in establishing landmark programs such as the Neighborhood Play Contest and Festival of the Kid. As the theatre’s go-to outreach teaching artist and educational playwright, he is committed to providing equal opportunities for all young people, and he is delighted that this scholarship is now available through generous grant funding.
The Stage West team firmly believes that every young person deserves a chance to experience the magic of theatre, and the launching of this scholarship is a testament to that belief.
